The Juvenile Justice Board court is all set to shift from the Zila Parishad complex to the Suvidha centre near the district court complex, bringing a respite to lawyers as well as litigants.
Swati Tiwana, GA to Ludhiana Deputy Commissioner, handed over the keys of new premises to District and Sessions Judge K S Kang, District Bar Association Vice-President Harjot Singh Harikay and Secretary Chetan Verma.
Last year, the Juvenile Justice Board was shifted to Shimlapuri area from the district courts complex. Lawyers were irked over this and held a strike for two days. Later, it was shifted to the Zila Parishad complex near the Old Sessions Court, but the lawyers were unhappy.
Harjot Singh Harikay said they had moved four recognitions demanding shifting of the court near the district court complex. He applauded the role of ADC Apneet Ryait in shifting the juvenile court.
