Kali Kumaon culture to be preserved: CM

Chief Minister Harish Rawat has announced to develop the region of Kali Kumaon in Champawat.
He has said a development authority will be constituted that will take special steps to preserve the culture of the region, including fairs and ancient historical and cultural places and monuments.
Harish Rawat, who was at Devidhura last evening to inaugurate the traditional Bagwal fair, said he had decided to send a special delegation of cultural tourism experts to Kolkata to study how Bengali tourists could be attracted to these places. “We have also planned to promote Sanskrit education along with culture in the region,” said Rawat.
He said an ITI at Khetikhan, and a veterinary college at Nariyalgaon would be opened soon. Efforts would be made to increase milk production in Champawat district, he added.
