Karamjit helps Youngsters thump Gujarat 10-0

Chandigarh, September 24 

Local contenders Youngsters Club hammered Gujarat Football Academy 10-0 in their opening encounter of the 14th Administrator's Challenge Cup All India Football Tournament for boys U-17 at the Sector 42 Sports Complex here today. 

Karamjit struck four times (4th, 30th, 87th and 88th minutes) for Youngsters Club, while Rohit scored a brace (36th and 38th minutes). Jaskaran and Amanpreet scored a goal each.

Karamjit's namesake added two more goals (41st and 65th minutes) to the winners' tally. 

Defending champions Pune Football Club, meanwhile, blanked Amarjit Football Academy, Kurali, 3-0.

Shimthang H scored the opening goal for Pune in the 23rd minute and then doubled the lead in the 62nd. Ishan Dey scored from the spot in the 87th minute of the match to complete the rout.   

Pune was awarded a penalty kick after Neeraj of Kurali stopped a high cross from winger Remai with his hands. 

Navi Mumbai Football Academy defeated JJ Soccer Football Academy, Bangalore, 3-1. 

Mohan scored the opener for Bangalore in the 11th minute. However, Mumbai came back through Sohail Shaikh in the 18th minute before Farzan struck a minute later to put the team in lead.

Sohail then scored his second in the 80th minute to give Mumbai an unassailable 3-1 lead.

Amandeep Singh scored twice as Dalbir Football Academy defeated Pride Sports Delhi 4-1. 

Dalbir Academy scored the opener through Gurpreet in the 10th minute before Gaurav doubled the lead in the 14th.

Amandeep then struck in the 18th minute to make it 3-0 in favour of Dalbir. 

Lov Sang Xavier scored for Pride sports in the 65th minute, but a late strike by Amandeep (81st minute) ensured an easy win for Dalbir Academy.

Chandigarh Football Association, meanwhile, overcame KUCT Howrah 2-1. The visitors drew the first blood in the 4th minute when Faruk scored through a measured shoot. 

The side maintained the lead till the 83rd minute, but Chandigarh lads upped the ante in the dying minutes to eke out a 2-1 result in their favour. 

Sukhandeep Singh struct in the 83rd minute to help Chandigarh draw level drew before Gurkeerat struck in the 90th minute to help the side to victory.

In the last match of the day, Thou Football Academy Manipur blanked Haryana 7-0.  L Benson struck thrice while Robinson scored a brace for the Manipur side.
