“I received award of the top-20 Women of the Year (2014) for promoting literature and poetry. One of my friends asked me whether I will work for films so I agreed and we worked together for the film ‘In search of America – Inshallah’ and later we also worked on a short movie,” said Kachroo, writer and poet. Having received her education in Kashmir, Jammu and Pune, Sunayana shifted to the USin 2000.

“In 2000, I went to the US for a job and since then I am staying there. But my writings depict influences of childhood in Kashmir and of Pune. My writing and poetry shows what I have lived. Home is home. After travelling for several years, we feel better at home. The feeling of home is only in Kashmir,” said Kachroo. — ANI
