Kashmiri students visit Chandimandir Military Station

A two-day visit to Chandigarh and the adjoining Chandimandir military station was organised by the Army for 20 schoolchildren and two teachers from Shopian in Kashmir under first national integration programme.
The children visited places of interest in Chandimandir and Chandigarh like the war memorial, air force base, IT Park, Rock Garden and Elante Mall. At Chandimandir, they were given an insight into activities of the Army.

The aim of such tours is to make the children responsible “citizens of tomorrow” and give them an insight into the vast natural, historical and cultural heritage of the nation. They will also visit Shimla and Jammu as part of their itinerary. — TNS
