Srinagar, January 17

A day after “Dangal” actor Zaira Wasim offered an apology, actor Aamir Khan on Tuesday backed the teenager by describing her as “talented and hard-working” and a role model, and appealed to everyone to leave her alone.

“I appeal to everyone to leave her alone and respect the fact that she is just a 16-year-old girl trying her best to deal with life,” Aamir wrote on Twitter. Hesaid he had read Zaira’s statement and “can understand and imagine what led her to make that statement”. — TNS
