Local 10- year-old Hunar Mittal added another feather to her cap after winning the first leg of the Indian Golf Union (IGU) All-India Sub-Junior and Feeder Tour at JW Golf Club, Mysore. The tournament was held from November 2 to 6. Hunar is just one game away from being India’s top seed golfer.
She will take part in the second leg of the same championship to be held from November 18 to 20 at the Bombay Presidential Golf Club, Mumbai. In the first leg, she played consistently and bagged the championship with a gross score of 74.
“I will play in the second leg of the championship. Playing in Mumbai will be entirely different from Mysore. However, I am prepared to perform well and claim the top seed,” said Hunar Mittal. A student of Strawberry Fields School, Sector 26, Hunar had secured second runners-up position at the Sixth Albatross International Junior Golf Championship India in Gurgaon. She also participated in the category D and also attained the runners-up spot in the team’s event at the same tournament. Hunar has competed in various golf tournaments in the USA, Scotland, Malaysia and Thailand.
