MAD volunteers paint, decorate Ganga ghats

Volunteers of the Making A Difference (MAD), a Dehradun-based social organisation, have created several beautiful wall paintings at the Shiv ghat with innovative colour and theme-based designs.

“The MADvolunteers have got an opportunity to clean the Ganga ghats during Ardh Kumbh,” said SA Murugesan, Mela Officer Ardh Kumbh. The Ardh Kumbh mela administration has sought the help of MAD to clean the Ganga ghats.

In the pilot project, MAD volunteers have been asked to decorate and paint the Shiv ghat on the banks of the Ganga, near Har-ki-Pauri.

Abhijay Negi, MADfounder president, said the task of making ghats more appealing had been assigned to a 11-member team. He said our work was appreciated by the people an we were indebited to the Ardh Kumbh mela administration for providing us a global platform.

Monika Khankha, a DIT student, said they had taken various aspects and spots of Haridwar city as a focus point in their paintings like Shiv ghat, world famous ‘Ganga Aarti’, Brahmakund, deity Ganesha, Lord Shiva and other religious-spiritual places of importance.

Kashika, Saurav Joshi, Karan Kapoor, Rahul Guru, Himanshu, Devesh Bisht, Animesh Kumar, Yashh Sharma and Hitesh Gautam are part of the 11-member team.
