Renowned spiritual preacher from South India Swami Indra Deveshwaranand Saraswati was accorded with the Mahamandaleshwar status at Prem Nagar Ashram here today.

The ceremony was held in the presence of Yoga guru Swami Ramdev and Panchayati Akhada Shri Niranjai saints.

Swami Indra Deveshwaranand said spiritual awakening and working for betterment of society and country was his priority.

Calling on devotees and people of the country to opt for swadeshi things, Indra Deveshwaranand Saraswati said within five years, foreign consumer companies would face a major threat from Indian companies as now the latter were fast realising the benefits of ayurveda, natural ingredients, herbs and the ill-effects of foreign brands, who mislead the consumers through aggressive branding.

Akhil Bharatiya Akhada Parishad president Shri Mahant Narendra Giri Maharaj said Swami Indra Deveshwarnand Saraswati had all the knowledge, capability and traits of a saint to be honoured with the religious post.

Shri Dakshin Kali Peeth Mahamandaleshwar Swami Kailashanand Brahamchari said a saint was a symbol of social equality and a medium to spread light of religion and spirituality, who offered everything for the well being of the society.
