Lalru: The Lalru police arrested a drug peddler and seized 50 bottles of Corex cough syrup from him. The accused has been identified as Ravinder Kumar, a resident of Ludhiana.

Investigation officer Naib Singh, posted at the Lalru police station, said they had laid a naka near the Lalru bus stand and got suspicious of the accused’s movement and during checking. Sources added that the accused used to procure Corex bottles from Delhi and supplied these to people hooked to drugs in Ludhiana.

A case has been registered against Ravinder Kumar under the NDPS Act at the local police station. The accused was produced before a local court today that sent him to one-day police remand. — OC
