Critically-acclaimed filmmaker Anurag Kashyap is all set to release his much-delayed film Ugly. The Hindi psychological thriller, which is written and directed by Kashyap, will now release on December 26.
Confirming the news, Kashyap said: "With a very focused and strong 11 day marketing plan, Dar Motion Pictures and Phantom films will release Ugly on December 26 this year."
Kashyap had delayed the release after the Censor Board objected to the exclusion of the anti-smoking disclaimer in the psychological thriller. He had expressed his dissatisfaction over the issue.
The film, which was premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, has already travelled to many film festivals. The film portrays the kidnapping of a little girl of 10, who is out with her father for the day.
Ugly stars Rahul Bhat, Jayant Gadekar, Abir Goswami, Sandesh Jadhav, Siddhant Kapoor, Tejaswini Kolhapure, Girish Kulkarni, among others.
