Mussoorie, September 14
Illegal constructions continue unabated in the hill town, jeopardising its fragile environment.
Residents have blamed the MDDA for the menace. They alleged that such activities were not possible without the help of the MDDA.
However, MDDA Executive Engineer Atul Gupta said he had served notices on all erring units. He rebutted the allegations that the MDDA was acting as a mute spectator to illegal constructions in the town.
Mussoorie SDM Swati Bhaduria, while addressing mediapersons, said she could initiate action only if she received any complaint in this regard.
Notably, over the past few years, a large number of trees have been felled to clear the terrain for commercial purposes.
