Mohali, February 2

The local CIA wing arrested Punjabi actor and singer Gurwinder Singh, alias Sonu Bajwa, here today in the case of indiscriminate firing near the Mohali bus stand in November last year.

Bajwa, a resident of Nayagoan, was arrested from a market at Nayagaon on a tip-off. The police recovered an Endeavour SUV from his possession.

Mohali SSP Kuldip Chahal said Bajwa was one of the most wanted miscreants in the case. “He started firing gunshots when the rival groups of Sonu Shah and Meet met near the Mohali bus stand at Phase VIII on November 6 last year,” said the SSP.

The police said Bajwa was a close associate of Sonu Shah, who had been arrested two days ago.

Inspector Atul Soni, in-charge of the CIA wing, Mohali, said Bajwa’s interrogation was on.
