As Himachal faces one of its worst water crises, sending locals on the warpath and forcing tourists to cut short their stay, the 15th edition of Hero MTB Himalaya has decided to focus on rainwater harvesting during a seven-day cycle race.

The main three objectives of the programme are water conservation by introducing sustainable rainwater harvesting systems in remote HP villages falling within the route of the MTB race, teaching the importance of first aid and spreading awareness on cleaner and greener environment, a release issued here said.
