The January 31 rape complaint, wherein a Morni-based women, had alleged that 35 –year-old Brahmdatt of Himachal Pradesh had raped her, has been found to be false, the police claimed here today. The police said the victim twice refused to undergo a medical examination at the Civil Hospital in Sector 6 and back tracked from her original allegation when presented in front of the District Magistrate.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Anil Kumar Dhawan, the woman told the District Magistrate that she and Brahmdatt had some money-related issues. Brahmdatt had come to her place and abused her after which she tried to falsely implicate him for rape. The DCP informed that action had been initiated against the woman under Section 182 of the IPC for giving false information.
This is the third such case this year where the allegations have been found to be false. On January 21, a minor of Indira Colony, had alleged that she was gangraped by around a dozen men but her medical did not prove so. In yet another case, a 29-year old-woman had levelled rape charges against her father-in-law on January 28. This case was also found to be false.
