Nepal Union Minister for Industries Mahesh Bishnet visited Patanjali Yogpeeth, 15 km from Haridwar, yesterday and met yog guru Ramdev.
Bishnet inaugurated a health camp by lighting the traditional lamp at Patanjali Yogpeeth and held talks with Ramdev on ayurveda, yog, health and natural therapies. He also discussed with Ramdev and Patanjali Yogpeeth general secretary Acharya Balkrishan on providing yog and ayurvedic medical therapy to people in rural areas of Nepal.
Both sides also dwelt on making yoga more popular in Nepal ,as both countries share same culture, religion, ecology and philosophy.
Ramdev, citing ailments like diabetes, obesity, kidney and liver problems spotted among the majority of 800 patients that had enrolled for this six-day camp, said owing to irregular lifestyle and lack of physical activity, people are becoming prone to such ailments on a large scale.
He urged people to think positive, eat nutritious, healthy food and adhere to yog, asanas, pranayam, natural medical therapies like ayurveda and ensure routine checkups.
“Indian medical therapies have four basic concepts, yog, ayurveda, natural therapy and nerve therapy. These have no side effects as is seen in allopathy,” said Ramdev.
