Jammu, March 15
Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Party (Nationalist) leader and former Agriculture Minister Ghulam Hassan Mir has hailed the Mother Helpage, an international NGO, for providing dentistry facility at his village in the Tangmarg area of Baramulla district.
In a statement issued here today, Mir hailed the Mother Helpage and its CEO, Sohail Nasti, for setting up a dental clinic at Primary Health Centre in his village, Hariwatno.
“This is an important step for the people of the village and the surrounding villages for they had to visit Srinagar or Baramulla for dental health care,” the statement read.
Mir who represented the Gulmarg constituency for the two consecutive terms, in all three terms, said: “The work of the NGOs in extending such health care was important because this helps the people living in the rural areas to have an access to facilities which are otherwise not easily available to the rural population.” He urged the NGO to extend the facility to other areas as well. — TNS
