Visitors to Nehru Rose Garden will be able to enjoy the facility of free Wi-Fi in the garden soon. The Ludhiana Municipal Corporation, in collaboration with telecom company Connect Broadband, is going to launch this service at Rose Garden tomorrow. The company is already providing this facility at Zone A and D offices of the Municipal Corporation.
According to officials, the facility will be inaugurated formally on Tuesday and people would be able to stay connected with the Internet during morning/evening walks in the garden. The garden is visited by a large number of people everyday.
One of the officials said in order to access the free Wi-Fi service, people just had to send an SMS, “Connect” to 9653444555 and after receiving username and password they could connect their mobiles or laptops with the Internet. One person can access free Internet for a period of 30 minutes and after the stipulated time they would have to log in again.
Municipal Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori said: “The idea is to provide fast Internet facility to the city residents.” In the next phase, they are thinking of starting this service at Shaheed Sukhdev Thapar Interstate Bus Terminal and Ghumar Mandi, he added.
