The state government this year has included polo matches in the National Livestock Championship being held during the Maghi Mela here. The five-day championship will begin tomorrow where polo matches are expected to be a major attraction.

Local lad Darshnik Singh Brar, son of former Kotkapura MLA Ripjit Singh Brar, would be participating in the event. Ripjit Brar said: “The inclusion of polo matches in the national livestock championship is an appreciable step taken by the Deputy CM. Some national players like Col Waraich and Simone Bajaj will be playing polo matches.”
