In a major decision, the Uttarakhand Forest Department has decided to go for online booking of its six rest houses in the state.

At a meeting of the eco tourism wing of the State Forest Department here today, it was decided to make six rest houses---Maheshkhan in Nainital, Dhanolti near Mussoorie, Birahi in Chamoli, Khirsu in Pauri, Fato in Ramnagar and Asan in Dehradun available for online booking.

All arrangements for the booking will be made within one month following which visitors can book these rest houses for stay.

So far the online booking is done only in Corbett National Park.
