Mohali, February 1
The tension between Mohali Municipal Corporation Commissioner Uma Shankar Gupta and Joint Commissioner Nayan Bhullar does not seem to die down.
Sources said both officers approached the higher authorities to clear their position on recent development of serving back-to-back show-cause notices by Gupta to Bhullar for the alleged insubordination and misconduct.
Gupta said he had submitted his report to the secretary of the local government, explaining the entire episode. “Now the ball is in the court of the higher authorities. I have nothing personal against her (Bhullar),” he said.
Bhullar had also issued a similar statement that she has brought the matter to the higher authorities.
Two notices were served two days ago on Bhullar when she had failed to respond to the “diktat of her boss (Gupta)” to see him in the his room for some important discussion instantly.
Meanwhile, Congress councillor Kuljit Singh Bedi has written a letter to the Chief Secretary, demanding the removal of Gupta from the post of MC Commissioner.
