Otter skin seized

The Araghar police seized pelt of endangered otter here on Sunday night. The hunt is on for the poachers, who managed to escape from the spot.
According to the information, search operation was carried out after Araghar police post in-charge SI Ashok Rathore received information about smuggling of otter skin in the locality.
A police team led by Dalanwala police station in-charge Inspector Anil Joshi placed barricades at different crossings and started search operation to nab the poachers.
The police found an abandoned bag near Fawara chowk, Nehru Colony. The team was shocked to see pelt of endangered otter in the bag. The price of seized pelt was nearly Rs 1 lakh. The police arrested two suspected men who were identified as Shamim and Taraq of Mehunwala but released them after interrogation. — TNS
