Pandit Omkar Dadarkar of the Gwalior Gharana will perform at Triveni Sangeet Sabha in Chandigarh on Sunday. He is presently attached to the ITC Sangeet Research Academy, Kolkata, as a junior guru.
Pandit Omkar was born in a family with a rich musical background and was inspired by his parents. He then went on to learn from Pt Yashwantbua Joshi of the Gwalior Gharana. He completed 6 years of rigorous training under the tutelage of Guru Pandit Ulhas Kashalkar at the ITC Research Academy.
He won the Shanmukhananda Hall Shiromani Award, Chaturanga Sangeet Shishyavrutti Award, Sangeet Natak Academy (New Delhi) Award and Ustaad Bismilla Khan Yuva Puruskar.
