The Haryana Government has constituted a commission headed by former IAS officer SP Sharma to resolve the long-standing issues pertaining to membership and assets of the Saraswati Kunj Cooperative House Building Society, Wazirabad, Gurgaon.
A spokesman of the Cooperation Department said other members of the commission included the Gurgaon ADC, the District Town Planner and the Deputy Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Gurgaon.
The commission would, inter alia, sort out the issues related to membership and plots of aggrieved persons who were claiming their right to plot or membership by deciding their eligibility.
The commission would reconcile and ascertain the assets of the society like land at various places and its total deposits in various banks as well as confirmation of the liability that is the money deposited by the applicants or claimants or members in the society.
He said the commission would submit a fact-finding report consisting genuineness of membership or plots or deposits and actual claims of aggrieved persons to the government for approval so that claims could be settled and justice done to genuine members.
He said the commission had the power to summon any officer, agent, servant or member of the society, past or present, who could give valuable information in regard to transactions of the society or the management of its affairs.
He said the tenure of the commission would be three months, which could be extended by the government, if required. The office of the commission would be at Gurgaon.
