Patiala’s Arushi tops PCS (judicial) exam

Aspirants from Patiala district have performed exceedingly well in the PCS (judicial) examination. While, local girl Arushi Goel, who recently topped the HCS (judicial) examination, topped the Punjab examination, brother-sister duo of Garima and Vishav Gupta also made it to the top-15 list.
Arushi (24) had topped the Haryana Judicial Services Examination (2014-15) by scoring 707 marks. In the PCS examination, she scored 633 marks to top the list.
Arushi gives credit for her success to her father, District and Sessions Judge SK Goel (retd) and mother Sushma Goel, a senior branch manager at the State Bank of Patiala, who always supported her dreams.
Garima and Vishav also did their parents proud by securing 14th and 7th rank, respectively. They attribute their success to their parents and teachers. Born to district attorney Sanjeev Gupta and his wife Sulkshana Gupta, the duo started preparing for the judicial examination after graduating from their respective institutes. While Vishav got a degree in law from the National Law School of India University, Bangalore, Garima graduated from Rajiv Gandhi National University, Patiala.
In his maiden attempt, Vishav scored 578 marks while Garima got 562 marks in her second attempt. Vishav secured 18th rank in the HCS (judicial) examination recently.
Shivani Garg from Patran segment of the district secured the 9th rank in the examination, while Renu Goyal secured the 32nd rank.
