PHE Dept employees protest at Chief Engineer’s office

Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department employees of the Jammu region under the banner of PHE Workers Welfare Association today held a protest on premises of the office of the Chief Engineer, PHE Department, in support of their long-pending demands.
The agitating employees raised anti-government and anti-administration slogans. While addressing the employees, Bakshi Singh, provincial president of the association, said the authorities were not serious about fulfilling the demands of the employees. He appealed to the Governor to intervene into the matter and issue necessary instructions for the implementation of the agreement made on September 3, 2014.
Subash Verma, provincial general secretary of the association, said “Our workers have been without wages for the last 25 months and in such circumstances how can and how long these workers can survive. The families of these poor workers are passing through many hardships because of financial crisis.”
Others who addressed the employees were Rattan Doshi, Swarn Singh, Bansi Lal Sharma, Chain Ram, Ajit Singh, Surjeet Singh, Khulbushan Nanda, Ashok Kumar, Ram Labhay, Baldev Singh, Raju Jamwal, Manzoor Ali and Ram Parkash.
