Playing the better half

You’ve seen her as the beloved Nandini Didi in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, but now you will see her in a new avatar. Nidhi Uttam will be seen playing a rather pivotal role in Star Plus’ upcoming show Dil Boley Oberoi. She will be seen playing the role of Jaanvi, the wife of Kaali Pratap Thakur (Rahul Dev) on the show. She will be someone who is often at the receiving end of her husband’s anger, but is otherwise an extremely strong woman.

“I’ve been playing Nandini since the last 8 years now; this character is a breath of fresh air for me in terms of my look and characteristics. Since I play the wife of an extremely powerful and wealthy man, my look is extremely royal and grand.” On working with Rahul Dev, Nidhi said, “He is an extremely senior actor in Bollywood and I hold a lot of respect for the experience he has in the industry. Having said that, Rahul Dev is an extremely down-to-earth personality and made me feel really comfortable.”
