Dograwali village in the district has a unique distinction. No FIR has been registered in connection with any crime or dispute in the village for the past five years.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Satinder Kumar Gupta said that a decision had been taken to felicitate the village panchayat during Independence Day function for this unique feat.
The village falls under the Kalanwali police station in the district. Narender Singh, former sarpanch of the village, said no major dispute had ever occurred in the village. “We settle minor disputes at our own level rather than approaching the police,” he said.
Rajpura Sahni in Nathusari Chopta block of Sirsa is another village of the district where no FIR has been registered in the past 21 months.
Police sources said some other villages had also exhibited the spirit of brotherhood with no police intervention for several months.
The villages are: Jhootikhera, Peerkhera, Khuian Nepalpur, Narain Khera, Burj Karamgarh, Dhani Sukhchain, Panjmala and Ranga.
