Poppy plants seized in Kullu

Kullu, May 5

The police seized 3,200 plants of poppy and 2,800 plants of cannabis, which were cultivated near Chirpana village under the Bhuntar police station of this district yesterday.

Kullu SP Padam Chand said a police team spotted a large number of poppy and cannabis plants illegally cultivated in the fields of Tedi Singh of Chirpana village while on patrol.

He said a case under the NDPS Act had been registered against the land owner and further investigation was being carried out.
