A poster presentation and a quiz were organised to mark World Health Day at Dolphin (PG) Institute of Biomedical and Natural Sciences here today. Arvind Gupta, chairman of the Dolphin (PG) Institute, inaugurated the World Health Day function. The programme was organized by the department of pathology. He called upon the health professionals to spread awareness among public regarding a healthy lifestyle to curb diseases. Most of the modern day diseases like diabetes are the result of our faulty lifestyle.

Dr Rashmi Dhingra delivered a lecture on anemia and its presence in women and children. She said by adopting proper diet and healthy lifestyle, people can easily get rid of it. Aditya Swarup, organizer of the programme, said the theme for this year’s World Health Day was diabetes. He threw light on the reasons, diagnosis and treatment of diabetes.

The winners of poster presentation were Heena, Parveen and Arzoo Khan. Jagdish Chandra excelled in painting contest; Prince and Sanjay Pal in collage making; Amit Dhami and Bhram Narayan in quiz competition; and Reema & Group in nukkad natak.

Principal Shailja Pant, director Arun Kumar, Rashmi Chauhan, Ankit Johari and other faculty members and students were present on the occasion.
