Priyanka Jakhar rallied from a set down to beat Princy Panchal to win the girls' U-16 title in the STA-AITA Talent Series (TS-7) Tennis Championship at the Chandigarh Club, Sector 1, here today.
Priyanka, after losing the first set 4-6, came back strongly to draw level with a 6-4 win in the second.
In the decider, Priyanka maintained her composure edge out Princy 6-3.
Nimrat Kaur, meanwhile, drubbed Mrinalini Sharma 6-1 6-2 to advance to the girls' U-14 final. She will play Jyotsana Yadav for the title.
Jyotsana registered a 6-2 6-1 Catherine Bhangu in the semifinal.
In the boys' U-16 semifinals, Shrut Mohan, after losing the first set, fought back hard to beat Jitin Kumar 1-6 6-2 6-2.
Divyansh Agarhari struggled to overcome a resilient Parveen Kumar 3-6 6-3 7-6(8) in the second semifinal match in the group.
Shrut Mohan, meanwhile, also entered the boys' U-14 final after registering a comfortable win over Sarabjot Singh.
In the final, Mohan will face Sidharth Goel, who posted an easy 6-4 6-1 win over Arhaan Pahwa.
