PU declared best educational institution in the country

Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh, has been declared the best university and educational institution of the country in the latest US News and Global Report.

Notably in 2016, the Thomson Reuters-powered report had declared Panjab University as the best university in the country. In the same report, the PU was declared the second best educational institution of India.

As per the latest report, the university was adjudged on 12 parameters. It topped in the books category, in which it got the maximum 925 points, while for international collaboration, it got only seven points.

Vice-Chancellor Arun Kumar Grover expressed satisfaction over the achievement. He said the competition was tough among all leading universities and institutions of the country. “The credit for the success goes to students, hard working research scholars and dedicated teachers,” Prof Grover added.

A PU spokesman said the university was consistently being ranked among the top universities in the country. “It is a matter of pride that the university has improved its rankings,” the spokesperson said.
