Rashtriya Military School, Ajmer, wins Hindi contest at RIMC

The All-India Kashi Naresh Hindi Debate competition was held at Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC) here yesterday. Fourteen teams participated in the debate.
Rashtriya Military School, Ajmer, emerged victorious over the RIMC by 16 points. La Martiniere College got the third position while Scholars Home stood fourth. Mayo College for Girls, Ajmer, Vidya Devi Jindal School, Hissar, La Martiniere College, Lucknow, RMKK Girls Public School, Jodhpur, The Lawrence School, Sanawar, Scindia School, Gwalior and Sahwag International School, Jhajjar were among the eight prominent teams that took part in the competition.
The day began with the first round of preliminary debates in the morning. Out of the 14 teams, six schools, namely The Doon School, Scholars Home, Scindia Kanya Vidyalaya, Rashtriya Military School, Ajmer, La Martiniere College, Lucknow, and the RIMC, were selected for the next round. Sonam Kumar of Rashtriya Military School was declared the best speaker of the first round.
After the second round of debate, four teams were selected for the final round.
The final round was held in the evening. The topic for discussion was ‘Manushya ki tivra gati se unnati hi uske vinash ka karan hai’.
Sonam Kumar of Rashtriya Military School, Ajmer was declared the overall best speaker while Cadet Ashish Kumar Pandey of the RIMC and Shubhanshu Tripathi of Rashtriya Military School, Ajmer, were adjudged the second and third best speakers, respectively.
The judges for the final round were Neeta Kukreti, poet and former principal of Guru Ram Rai School, Dr Ram Vinay, HoD Sanskrit, DAV College, and Dr Vidya Singh, HoD Hindi, DAV College.
Anil Raturi, ADG Police Law, and Radha Raturi, Chief Electoral Officer, and Principle Secretary, Finance, were the chief guests. Col Vivek Sharma, Commandant, RIMC presented a vote of thanks. He lauded the performance of the students.
