Regularisation of slums soon: Secy

Dehradun, February 25

Secretary for Urban Development DS Garbyal has said the government will soon start the process of regularisation of slums based on the report submitted by a committee headed by MLA Rajkumar.

Garbyal said a high-powered committee headed by Chief Secretary Shatrughan Singh had already gone through the report.

According to the report, there are 582 slums or malin bastis, out of which 278 have been notified and around 242 are illegal. There are 153,174 houses having a population of 771,585 in these slums.—TNS
