Dehradun, February 12
Retired employees of Jal Nigam staged a protest on its campus here today. They threatened to continue with their agitation till the Nigam takes effective step to address their grievances.
The agitators staged a dharna at the Nigam office and submitted memorandum to officials concerned. The protesters expressed concern that a memorandum highlighting their demands was submitted several times to the Nigam, but to no avail.
The agitators demanded timely release of pension, gratuity, post retirement pensionary benefits etc.
Satish Tyagi said the Nigam had given only assurance to association members, but the department was yet to take steps to accede to their demands.
SP Khadwal, LP Raturi, Lallan Dubey, DS Negi and others were present.
