RJ stays live for 111 hours

Radio jockey (RJ) Nasir of 92.7 Big FM has set a record and joined an ‘elite’ RJ group by remaining live on air for a total of 111 hours.
The marathon started on January 26 at 7 am, said a statement issued by the channel. Its objective was to spread awareness and draw people to ‘pledge to share’ through the Internet.
For every pledge that came through a missed call or online medium, the company donated 1 MB to an NGO, which would use it for empowering people who currently did not have access to Internet.
It said for the last five days, several officers ranging from Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Asgar Sammoon, to SSP, Traffic, Maqsood-uz-Zaman, and businessmen, economic experts, entrepreneurs, doctors and fitness experts, visited the radio station to show their support to this initiative.
People received the concept very well and showed support even in the late hours when they called up just to boost the enthusiasm of the RJ to stay inspired for 111 hours.
Former Education Minister Naeem Akhter and PDP youth leader Waheed Rehman Para made a special visit to the studio to encourage RJ Nasir, the statement added.
After accomplishing the feat, RJ Nasir said, “I am very excited to have created history. This experience has made me realise the love that people of Kashmir have for me. People across all age groups came to meet me, called me up and helped me. This experience has taught me a lot. I thank everyone for the support.”
