Kullu, April 19
Mandi MP and member of Central Advisory Committee of Tourism and Culture Ministry Ram Swaroop Sharma laid the foundation stone of Saraswati Vidhya Mandir school building, operated by Himachal Shiksha Samiti, at Nitthar village in Anni subdivision of this district yesterday.
The MP announced to provide Rs 2.5 lakh for the building’s construction. He said the Luhri-Banjar tunnel under the 10,500 feet high Jalori Pass would be constructed on a priority to connect Anni subdivision with the district headquarters throughout the year.
He said this would also boost the tourism industry of the entire Banjar and Anni valley.
School principal Prem Pal Sharma welcomed the chief guest and said over 25,000 educational institutions were being run by the Shiksha Samiti in the entire country.
Colourful presentations were given by students. Later, he awarded the meritorious students of Banas School as well.
