Around Rs 3 crore has been sanctioned for widening of the Kempty bypass in order to ease traffic congestion, a bane for those visiting the popular tourist destination Kempty Falls in Tehri district.
Urban Development Minister Preetam Panwar, told mediapersons in Mussoorie today that tourists would get relief from frequent traffic jams once the Kempty bypass was widened. The 5.5-km road widening is being funded by World Bank. He said Rs 3 crore had been sanctioned for the project and World Bank had released the funds.
Panwar said villages Dhaar Gaon, Riyat Gaon, Tilogi and pilgrims going towards Yamunotri would also benefit from the project.
