The Chandigarh Sahitya Akademi had invited authors from the city to give away awards for 2016. The following authors have been selected for this honour by evaluators of Sahitya Akademi:
English:Anuradha Bhattacharya – novel; Sulekha Sharma – short story; Harsimran Kaur – children literature. Hindi: Hema Sharma – short story; Prof Gurmeet Singh – essay; Sanv Richa – translator; Sumita Mishra – poetry; Manohar Shukla – children literature. Punjabi: Subhash Sharma – poetry; Nirmal Jaswal Rana – short story; Malkit Basra – children literature. Urdu: Renu Behal.
