Dehradun, July 22

Sarojini Kaintura, chairperson of the Uttarakhand Women’s Commission, has asked government departments to form women committees.

Kaintura, while addressing officials from various departments at the Collectorate, said women employees should be made members of these panels.

She said it was important to check harassment at workplace. She said the inclusion of women members in such panels would ensure transparency in working of the committees.

She urged officials to identify girls who have scored well in classes X and XII and women who have done any act of bravery. She said they would be honoured.

District Magistrate Ravinath Raman asked the police department to open a women police station in Dehradun.
