Former Union Minister and senior BJP leader Satpal Maharaj has urged the Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley to ensure cash in the post offices of Uttarakhand. In a letter written to the Union Finance Minister, Satpal Maharaj said since there was a shortage of banks and ATMs in the hilly areas, most of the people were dependent upon post offices for their cash requirements. He said post offices were facing a cash crunch since demonetisation.

Maharaj said since marriage season was going on in the hilly districts and people were in need of money, so there is urgent need to provide cash in the post offices. He hoped that adequate cash would be provided in the post offices in the hilly areas soon.
