Scholarships for BPL students sought

Activists of the Jan Sangharsh Morcha held a demonstration on the SDM office premises, Vikasnagar, here today.

The activists demanded scholarship to below poverty line (BPL) students of the state. The protest was led by Jan Sangarsh Morcha chairman RS Negi. The protesters gathered at the SDM office campus, Vikasnagar, and raised slogans against the state government.

They said BPL students were deprived of scholarship benefits. The activists said the government should launch beneficiary schemes for improving the social and economical status of BPL families in the state.
