New GMT Public School organised annual athletics meet on Saturday. The opening ceremony commenced with the arrival of the chief guest, Sanjeev Kumar. The march past by the four houses (Tripathi, Premchand, Dinkar and Tagore) mesmerised one and all. The events for the day included 50m, 100m and 200m races, sack race, goggle race, disc throw and long jump. Winners were given medals and certificates. Tripathi house grabbed the champion house trophy. Principal Manjeet Kaur and director Jasbir Singh Thind congratulated the winning team.

Wiztech-20014 concludes

DCM Presidency School made an endeavor to develop IT skills of the students by imparting technical know-how and by conducting various IT events. The school organised Wiztech-2014, an IT event which culminated during a ceremony. Wiztech, annual techno-edu festival is a mega event in which top-notch schools of Ludhiana and schools under DCM Group participate with great enthusiasm. Various IT events such as I-paint, multimedia presentation, logo designing, photoshop, declamation contest, IT quiz etc were held. Prize distribution ceremony took place on the closing day. The winners were felicitated by the judges, sponsors and the principal. Pearl Narang of Class XI got first prize in multimedia presentation. Chetan Aggarwal of Class VI got the first prize in logo design. Principal Nupur Nutan congratulated the winners.

Annual function

Guru Nanak International Public School I-Block, BRS Nagar, celebrated annual day “The World of Fantasy” on Sunday. The Member of Parliament, Ravneet Singh Bittu, was the chief guest on the occasion. More than 300 students participated in the cultural fiesta. The children of kindergarten enthralled everyone with their act ‘Maa Meri Maa….’. ‘Bhagat Singh’s Fansi’ by the senior students also mesmerised one and all. The scary act titled ‘Ghost Riders’ also caught everyone’s attention. The general secretary, Gurvinder Singh Sarn, gave a vote of thanks and also appreciated the hard work put in by teachers and the students to make the evening a grand success. — TNS
