Scouts & Guides messengers of peace: Guv
Chandigarh, March 2
Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki today described the Scouts and Guides as an educational institution that prepared citizens to take the country on the path of progress.
Solanki was speaking at the 39th annual general meeting of the State Association of the Haryana State Bharat Scouts and Guides at Haryana Raj Bhawan here today.
The Governor said the Bharat Scouts and Guides were also considered a messenger of peace for humanity and it had branches in 216 countries. A budget amounting to Rs 2.98 crore was approved for 2016-17 to promote activities of the Bharat Scouts and Guides in the state.
CM Manohar Lal Khattar administered a pledge of unity of the state to them. —TNS
