The firing incident on Shiv Sena leader Amit Arora has turned out be a concocted story.

The city police believe that the attack was drama staged by the Arora with the help of his cook and gunman for more security.

President of the youth wing of the Shiv Sena, Amit had claimed that he was shot in the neck by unidentified assailants at Subhash Nagar in Basti Jodhewal area on February 3 evening.

According to the police, the story of attack was mere drama to get more security personnel and escort vehicle like other Shiv Sena leaders in the state.

Sleuths from the CIA staff detained Amit today morning and was interrogating him about the incident.

Jatinder Singh Aulkah, Commissioner of Police said, “The details about incident would be made public soon,” he added.

From the time the incident was reported, the police was suspicious about the incident.

Sources said Amit claimed that he was sitting with his gunman in his car at a roadside eatery at Subhash Nagar when the incident occurred.

The police investigated that how could he be shot at on the left side while he was sitting on the driver’s seat.

His cook made bullet injury marks with a knife later on and that the guard of Arora was also reportedly involved in the conspiracy.

Following attack, Hindu organisations had staged protests in the city and police averted communal tension after a heated argument of Shiv Sena leaders with shopkeepers at Akal Market on February 3.

Amit Arora got two more gunmen after the attack and he reportedly demanded an escort vehicle from the DGP.

Rajiv Tandon, chairman of the state unit of Shiv Sena said, “I also found the incident was suspicious. Such dramas are being staged by Shiv Sena leaders to get gunmen. I appeal to the government to withdraw all gunmen from Shiv Sena leaders in the state. We will meet the DGP on this count soon.”
