Kirpal was alleged to have been involved in a bombing at Pakistan’s Faisalabad railway station in 1991 and was sentenced to death for “spying and terrorism”. In 2013, an Indian jailed in Pakistan, Sarabjit Singh, was attacked by two fellow inmates and he succumbed to his injuries two days later.
