Shiny Doshi, who was last seen in Saraswatichandra, stars in Zee TV’s Sarojini now. She talks about her role and more.

Why did you choose this show?

The show just happened to me. Producer Rashmi Sharma chose me beforehand only, as when I went to give an audition for the role, a contract was already there for me to sign! I went through the audition, look test and mock shoot before being selected though.

Do you think your role in Saraswatichandra helped you bag this one?

It was my first show where I learnt a lot. I didn’t know much about acting before.

Usually shows start with a theme, but end up in kitchen politics. Do you agree?

I wouldn’t compare my show with any other. Yes, people love to watch ‘saas bahu’ shows on TV, but ours has a lot of humour. It will also carry a social message. My character will be a role model for many women out there.

Bagging a lead is a big deal…right?

Yes. There are a lot of expectations from you. I want to prove myself. It can get tough sometimes.
