Shrine board holds ‘yagya’ for peace

On Makar Sankranti, the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board organised ‘yagya’ for peace and prosperity at Maha Lakshmi Temple of the Trikuta Bhawan complex in Katra today. The ‘havan-yagya’, which commenced amid chanting of Vedic mantras and other religious ceremonies this morning, concluded with ‘purna ahuti’ this afternoon.

The ‘yagya’ was organised under the supervision of Ajeet Kumar Sahu, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board.

Pankaj Gupta, Deputy CEO, Sudesh Sharma, Deputy Manager, Trikuta Bhawan, other officials and staff of the shrine board, besides a large number of pilgrims participated in the ‘yagya’ and ‘purna ahuti’.

At the culmination of the ‘havan-yagya’, ‘prasad’ was distributed among the pilgrims and all those present on the occasion.

Meanwhile, the CEO said the cave of Mata Vaishno Devi was today opened for ‘darshan’.

He said 12,000 to 13,000 pilgrims were visiting the shrine daily and 2,26,382 pilgrims had offered prayers at the shrine since January 1.
