Chandigarh, January 30

Shubham defeated Rishi 8-3 to win the final of the U-14 category on the concluding day of the Roots Tennis Championship in Zirakpur.

In the semifinals, Shubham beat Maulik 6-0 and Rishi beat Lakshya 6-3 to set up the title clash. Shubham beat Parth 6-2, Maulik defeated Utkarsh 6-3, Rishi overpowered Samaira 6-1 and Lakshya edged past Ujjwal 6-5 (7) in the quarterfinals. The winners were awarded with certificates.
