Jalandhar: In a same-sex marriage, Manjit Kaur, a Sub-Inspector of the Punjab Police, tied the knot at Pucca Bagh here on Saturday. The cop, who donned a red turban, and her bride rode a chariot. The video and the pictures clicked by mediapersons went viral within hours. Colony residents said the marriage was solemnised as per Hindu rituals. Some cops said Manjit was once posted at the Central Jail here, but was later shifted to Kapurthala. TNS
